The Bayside U17 Thunder represented FYSA Region D at President's Cup at Merritt Island, Florida on March 28/29. In a blind draw for the final four championship round on Saturday the Thunder played Miami Stars, the eventual tournament Champions. With a minute to go in regulation Blake Trotter scored the tying goal to force the match into OT. Blake quickly scored a second goal to put the Thunder up 2-1, but the Stars scored late in OT and put the game to a shoot out, which Miami won.
The Thunder came back the next day in the consolation game and handled Futbal Club Tampa by a 3-1 score. Danny Gibbble scored the first goal early in the half and Jack Shows added two more at the end of the first and early in the second to secure the win. At the conclusion of the tournament the Thunder team voted Blake Trotter as the MVP. The Thunder now prepares for the Destin ECU tournament on April 25/26.
